about

Emerging from Los Angeles' mid-'90s burgeoning power-pop circuit, Wendie's band Box The Walls caught the ear of veteran music producer Joe Chiccarelli (Beck, The Shins, American Music Club), which resulted in the 3 song EP, "Like Roses." Heavy rotation in college radio led to a signing with Countdown Records. Box The Walls made a splash with their full-length debut CD "Stuff." Produced by Kevin Moloney (U2, Sinead O'Connor), the album received national commercial radio airplay and charted in both Gavin and Radio & Records. Consistently garnering five-star reviews, CMJ called it "as striking a debut as we've heard in a very long time."

Wendie's solo debut "Payday," released in 2001 and produced by Rob Laufer (Fiona Apple, Melissa Ferrick), received rave reviews from tastemaker music journalists across the country. The Los Angeles Times said "'Payday' occupies the artistic space between Aimee Mann and Alanis Morisette, fashioning catchy songs with cathartic humor."

Repeatedly cited as one of the most refreshing voices within the contemporary music scene, Wendie possesses a vast range and vocal power that profoundly conveys the poetry she writes. Her music has been favorably compared to Elvis Costello and Neil Finn (Crowded House), and it's fitting that she sang back up vocals for seminal pop group Squeeze, and shared the stage with The Cranberries, The Innocence Mission, Jill Sobule and Stan Ridgway.

In 2001, Wendie began a successful career composing and producing music for television, film and commercials. Her songs and compositions have been heard worldwide in top name brand advertising, major network shows and feature films.
