about

Ottawa’s Eight Seconds became Canadian Top40 sensations in 1987 when they broke through with their monster Rupert Hine produced synth-pop hit “Kiss You (When It’s Dangerous)”. A second full-length album followed in 1990 but management and label issues derailed the band’s momentum. They split up not long after. Keyboardist Frank Levin would go on to co-found Canadian independent music distribution company IndiePool in the mid-1990s which led to work with Bullseye Records. When the idea of launching a Beatles tribute came up in 2002, Levin offered to design the packaging for ‘It Was 40 Years Ago Today’ and reunite Eight Seconds for an exclusive version of “Hey Jude”.
