about

As a tightly knit American five-piece signed to Elektra Records – which included Bob Segarini (vocals, guitar), Randy Bishop (vocals, guitar), Bill “Kootch” Trochim (bass, guitar), Ernie Earnshaw (drums) and Mike Stull (guitar, bass) – The Wackers entered musical stage right with the Gary Usher produced “Wackering Heights” in 1971. And on subsequent trips to Montreal they recorded “Hot Wacks” in ’72 and “Shredder” in ’73 – an album that gave the Wackers their only legitimate hit single in Canada with the tune "Day and Night”.

They decided not to leave Montreal and became the defacto house band at legendary club ‘The Mustache’ as rags-to-riches foreign dignitaries. Happy hour would not last. Eventually, Elektra rejected the demos for the band’s fourth album – “Wack And Roll” – and because they failed to crack Top40 radio stateside, they no longer had the backing of their musical power brokers. The band split in 1974 but reunited to launch the fabled lost "Wack And Roll" album with this live version of "Roll Over Beethoven" as a bonus track.
